Since last I wrote…

I’ve had two aggressive colds. I’m still conked out on cold medication (thanks, Theraflu!), so I’m going to let the pictures mostly tell the stories here. Please forgive any stupid spelling or grammar. I can’t think straight right now! And now, the past two weeks:

Miss Eray came to town. We had cocktails in the afternoon, went on adventures, and made sure to fit in as much Utter Ridiculous as humanly possible. One day, we will be nutso little old ladies, trolling around the Pacific Coast in some kind of hooptie little car.

I got a last-minute spot in Jordan Ferney‘s party hat workshop at Anthropologie. It was a lot of fun, and a total thrill to meet a blogger that I’ve followed avidly for years. (Bonus: If you click over to her site, I’m in one of the pictures!)

I finally went to the Alameda Antiques Faire (aka the Alameda Flea Market), and it was glorious!

Alas, my addled brain failed to predict sunshine of any sort, so not only did I overdress like crazy, I also omitted sunscreen from my preparations. Yowza.

I scored a fabulous rug for our foyer at the flea market. Combine the new rug with my greatest Home Depot Purchase Ever, and our entryway is starting to look as though adults live in this house! Hooray!

(People. Martha Stewart collection, THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS. Go! Now!)

Amid all of this, I’ve had a lovely friend in town for the past month. We’ve been rehearsing a little hilarious recital. More to follow, but for now, a hint:

Whew! I think that’s enough updating for now. I hope you had a lovely Labor Day weekend, friends. Happy September!

Oh you must have been really sick. I thought by now you knew that the East Bay is usually warmer than San Francisco — especially Alameda. It doesn’t start to cool down until the sun is setting. Oh and did you go check out the Alameda location of Burma Superstar?

For someone with two colds, you’re doing a good amount of getting out. Fun stuff! I love flea markets.

    1. Hats: I thought that was you! So awesome!
    2. Flea Market: Swoon!
    3. My former across-the-hall neighbor played the accordion and my first night in my new-to-me apartment he started a concert at midnight. It is one of my most favorite memories, and after a few weeks of such concerts he agreed that accordion playing would stop by 11:00 pm.
