A Wishing Day

I used to love to wish on the clock. You know: 1:23, or 2:34, or 5:55. Sequential numbers or matching numbers meant I could make a wish, and it would come true. Most of my wishes were tiny ones, and I have no idea how many came true, but I loved the ritual.

Today is 12/12/12. And I’d feel remiss if I didn’t make a wish. Or several.

I wish for the continued health and happiness of the people I love. I wish for growth. I wish to make the world a better place. I wish for the wisdom to figure out what the “small stuff” actually is. I wish for the strength to set and uphold boundaries. I wish for laughter, lightness, and joy.

What do you wish for on this Wishing Day?

I LOVE THIS. I think for Wishing Day I’d like to spend the whole day living in the moment and not worrying about the past or plotting for the future.

“I wish for the wisdom to figure out what the “small stuff” actually is.” This is brilliant, it’s like advice gold.

I have a lot of things I’m wishing for of late, but the biggest and most important is for either the softened heart of someone who, it seems, is out to make my and J-Mo’s life miserable, and/or more patience and ability to stay above her same level of muck. Wisdom to figure out what the small stuff is? I’d like that, please.

I wish for safe travels this festive season and for time to sit cozily with family and friends and laugh and drink eggnog and read and laugh some more. Also, for a bike.
